Northern girls are the most stylish in the UK, a study has revealed today. The research by Debenhams found that ladies from Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds are quicker to pick up on trends and are more glam than their southern contempories.
Despite London’s reputation as the style hub of the UK, only two of the 15 top trends of the past decade began in the capital. Skinny jeans and ‘the boyfriend look’ have been attributed to the city, while northerners have been credited for the trends of wearing hair curlers out, slapping on the fake tan and wearing killer heels and fake lashes. Whether these are good trends is yet to be decided!
The figures came when Debenhams analysed their sales from the last decade. A spokesman said: “It is assumed trends start in London but northern cities tend to pick up on trends faster and wear them bigger and brighter.”

I didn’t know that at all! Judging from these pictures, Southerners look a lot more subtle than their Northern counterparts, but Northerners are a lot more playful with their fashion choices.

Regarding this debate, you know i’m more swayed to North due to my love for Liverpool…BUT they are both dead stylish and fashionable. Like it says Northern girls look more polished and glam whereas Southerners are more playful and adventerous with their styles.
However, the Midlands is a mix of both so- WINNER

The pictures show that girls from the South looking better, although Cheryl Cole has impeccible style. As a Londoner, I’m going to have to pick the South! But that might just be my own bias, hehe.
