By now, most of you will have heard the devastating news that the classic and timeless MTV drama The City, will no longer be gracing our screens.
No more Whitney, no more Roxy and no more Olivia. And although Whitters was probably most people’s favourite character, everyone enjoyed the love to hate Miss Palermo, New York fashionista and all around Upper East Side socialite.
Not only did she make ballet flats completely fashionable (as well as functional), but she somehow managed to land a job at Elle magazine where she became some kind of accessories guru, styling proper celebs like Fergie and Ke$ha.
And now, even after the show’s sad demise, she’s managed to bag herself a job as the new face of Mango. But not only that, she also gets to strut her bony butt next to her hot model boyf Johannes Huebl.
Joining a host of other famous faces, such as Scarlett Johansson and Poppy Delivigne, reality TV star Palermo will represent the high street store in their Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.
Her teeny tiny frame and old Hollywood movie star looks, made her the perfect choice for the campaign, which shows the couple posing in some classic party pieces, perfect for Christmas…
… As well as some dressed down cool.
When asked by Vogue if she was shy working with her long-time beau, she said: “I was at first, it was really embarrassing – but then I remembered it was just him and I could just be normal – so then it was really fun.”
So, will the couple be featuring on Mango billboards across the country? “I don’t know about that but I’m really pleased to have done it,” she said.
What do you think of Olivia as the new face of Mango? And what do you think of the AW/10 collection so far?
