Last year Lily Allen and her sister slash business partner Sarah Owen opened their own vintage clothes store in London’s Covent Garden which allows shoppers to hire or buy vintage pieces at affordable prices. The store ‘Lucy In Disguise’ (brilliant name) also features a blow dry bar and a vintage salon. Sounds like a fashionistas dream!
But now the two sisters will also be launching their own fashion line under the Lucy In Disguise label. The 18 piece ready-to-wear vintage inspired collection will be sold in store and on the LID website as well as in Harvey Nichols stores across the UK from June.
Lily ‘with a little help from her friends’ have designed vintage inspired pieces named after a famous person or place such as ‘Capone’ a thirties inspired black beaded flapper-esque dress. Sketches of the dresses have been released and we have to say they look amazing.
Of the collection, Lily said it was inspired by the idea of a fictional Lucy who is “A time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe… It’s a great opportunity to play with the character.”
If you’ve been watching the “Lily Allen: Riches to Rags” documentary then you’ll have seen just how much it means to the sisters that they cater for everyone in terms of prices. The collection will range from £95-£350 which isn’t too bad.
Of course Lily is no stranger to designing- remember her Lily Loves collection for New Look and of course her jewellery collection?
We love Lily Allen here at Wardrobe and after watching the documentary we’re also a little bit in love with Sarah too- she has an amazing wardrobe! We haven’t been to LID yet but the four of us hope to visit the shop soon. Like I said it sounds like every fashionistas dream…

What do you think of the new collection? Have you been to Lucy in Disguise and if so what did you buy?
