Introducing bareMinerals Skincare

23 Aug

Recently, we were invited to Selfridges in Birmingham to learn about bareMinerals, the new skincare range from Bare Escentuals.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Bare Escentuals was first set up in a boutique in San Francisco in 1976 and from there they have grown and grown under CEO Leslie Blodgett. They launched their make up range in the UK in 2001 and now this Autumn, their brand new skincare range will be hitting stores.

Learning about bareMinerals was really interesting for me as I like to use products which are very natural and have no added perfumes etc. What makes this skincare range stand out is that they all contain something called RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex which is unique to these products. It helps the cells in your skin to renew and provides an antioxidant protection. For me, it ticks the boxes when it comes to finding inspiration in natural ingredients!

We’ve been given some lovely bareMinerals goodies to try and I’ll be updating you on how they’re working.

From the skincare range, we were given a Renew and Hydrate Eye Cream, a Purely Nourishing Moisturizer, a Purifying Facial Cleanser and a Pure Transformation Night Treatment.

Just some of the new bareMinerals products

I’m going to be introducing these products into my daily routine and I’m hopeful that I’ll see good results.

So far, so good. My face isn’t used to a bedtime cleansing session so the first few mornings I woke up with a shiny face! But after the third night it all seemed back to normal. The products, especially the moisturizer, smell lovely and my skin does seem to feel softer. I’ll let you know difference it’s made once I’ve been using them for a more weeks.

I’m also getting to test out their Pure Transformation Night Treatment. It’s a mineral treatment which comes in four shades, clear, light, medium and tan. It’s meant to give you smoother, brighter skin and give you a more even skin tone. The different shades are great if you’re a bit conscious about going to bed with no make-up on or having your significant other seeing you with no face on. This allows you not to have such a bare look. At the same time it nourishes your skin and doesn’t clog up your pores.

Attached to the lid is a brush to apply the minerals which is quite soft and feels great on your skin.

You basically shake the jar when the lid is on, tap off any excess and buff it onto your skin. This doesn’t come off on your pillow, so need to worry about dirty stains when you wake up! I can verify this, as I’m trying this out in the medium shade and I haven’t had a problem so far. It does feel slightly odd to put this on at the end of the night, but if it really helps my skin then I’m all for trying it!

These products, as well as a few others will be available from 1st September at Bare Escentuals Boutiques, Selfridges and selected spas/salons. For more information on the new bareMinerals range, click here.

If you love Bare Escentuals then keep checking the blog. We’ve got some more exciting news from them coming soon as well as a few products you can might want to check out to achieve a “make under” look.

Are you looking forward to the new bareMinerals range?
